Bible Study
Do you like studying the Bible—and the Bible only? Have you been searching for an easy-going place to study what the Bible really says, without an agenda or a dogmatic bias? Do you prefer to listen to what the Bible is telling you, a pursuit of Bible truth uncluttered by opinion? Do you like studying together in a group setting, where you are trusted to freely explore your discoveries? Have you been interested in studying in a sincere environment with other like-minded Bible students? Then the small group Bible Study is just for you. Come and join us each Saturday at 9:30am for a lively, fascinating and dynamic study of some of the great themes of the Bible. Some of us like to verbally participate, while others of us prefer to just listen to the exchanges. Let’s discover together the fantastic benefits that God has provided and created for us in His letters.
Creative Christians
If you are looking for an outlet for your spiritual gift of creativity, this is the place for you! We are an “open” group and welcome new members and visitors at any time. Some of the projects the class has learned and enjoyed are: linoleum block printing, creating the church Christmas Card for 2004, making book plates for the church library, photography, and building pinewood derby cars. Because our God is a God of endless creativity, the possibilities of sharing in His creativity are also endless.
Women's Ministry
It is our purpose to inspire women to reach their full potential in Christ, to enable women to deepen their spiritual lives, and act on their faith by utilizing their unique gifts in service for Him, thus becoming a significant part in hastening Christ’s return. We minister with love and compassion to the spiritual, physical, mental and social needs of men, women, and children, displaying and declaring the love of God for fallen humanity. Our ultimate goal is to bring souls to Jesus Christ. In April we started the second annual Special/Secret Sisters program. It is a special program for women. Last year, it was a great success. Those who participated found that it was fun and an encouragement to them. Friendships are made and strengthened. This year, the number of women participating has increased by more than 25%. For the next six months, each woman who is participating has the name of another woman. During that time, they are encouraged to pray regularly for the person whose name they received. Once a month, in some tangible way, they are to let their special sister know they are praying and thinking of them. This can be in the way of notes or cards of encouragement or small and inexpensive gifts. This program is not about giving or receiving gifts. It’s about giving and receiving encouragement. A “reveal” party will be planned after the six months so all the sisters can find out the identity of their special sister. Women’s Ministries also sponsors “weekend get aways” at various places. These events are well attended by all the women in the Washington Conference and they are held at different places. Last year they met at Ocean Shores. Upcoming events will be advertised. Prayer is an important part of any ministry. It is an integral part of women’s ministries. Through the annual retreats and programs like the Special Sisters program, women share that they have learned to make prayer a daily part of their lives. As you can see, Women’s Ministries isn’t just one thing. It is anything that women can do to nurture and encourage others—in the church or outside of it. As the women of our church strengthen their friendships, hopefully we will become involved in a lot more activities, from Bible studies, prayer times, seminars, retreats, banquets, special sisters to giving out sack lunches to homeless people, working with youth and serving our Lord through our unique gifts and talents. Sound like fun? Come and join us – bring your ideas – let’s get involved! Therefore encourage each other and build one another up, just as you also are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Young Adults
We are a diverse group that meets together in a relaxed atmosphere to explore God’s word and how it can be relevant to our daily life.
